March Mystery Movies- Fridays at 10:00

March 15 at 10:00 am - 11:30 am

|Recurring Program (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Friday, repeating until March 29, 2019

These films are from the 1930’s and 1940’s.  Each week you will be given a short mystery question to solve.  Light snack provided.

3/8 – Suspected Person.  When New York-based crime reporter Jim Raynor returns to his London roots, he doesn’t expect to be under investigation for a bank heist and he certainly doesn’t expect the American robbers he just may have double-crossed to follow him. (Starring Clifford Evans, Patricia Roc, David Farrar. B&W; 78 min.)

3/15 – The Shadow.  A black mailer known only as The Shadow is terrorizing the rich in England.  When a police detective on his trail is killed he leaves behind a clue.  Things come to a head as suspects and uninvited guests end up at the home of the Chief Police Inspector.  (Starring Henry Kendall, Elizabeth Allan.  B&W; 71 min.)

3/22 – The Thirteenth Guest.  Marie Morgan traces clues in a decaying mansion back to a dinner party of thirteen years ago.  Motivated by the sudden death of her father in the very house she now explores, Morgan attempts to solve the mystery.  (Starring Ginger Rogers, Lyle Talbot, J. Farrell MacDonald. B&W; 65 min.)

3/29 – The 9th Guest.  Eight complete strangers are invited to spend the evening together in an opulent mansion.  After wine and dinner, they are told through a recording over a radio that they will each be killed, one at a time, unless they can outwit the “ninth guest,” who is death.  This movie garnered high reviews due to better-than-average writing and suspense.  (Starring Donald Cook, Genevieve Tobin. B&W; 65 min.)
